About the Lecture

ENBIO initially began as a medical devices company, putting synthetic bone onto titanium hip joints. Their technology ended up having application in the space sector and that is where they have hit their stride. Lorcán will talk a little about the company, its history, how they came to be where they are now and their plans for the future.
The talk will cover the Solar Orbiter and EIRSAT-1 missions, in which ENBIO were involved. It will explain the various coatings ENBIO offers and their application in space and elsewhere. He will explore the space sector in general, in Europe and in Ireland specifically.
About the Lecturer
Lorcán Byrne of ENBIO has an undergraduate degree in Physics from Trinity. He had originally planned to move into the field of Medical Physics but found himself at Enbio and couldn't be happier.
After the lecture there will be a social reception in The Lombard
and we encourage all of you to come along for a chat.
All are welcome to attend and free food will be kindly provided by The Lombard.
