This Saturday, the Moon will rise over the eastern horizon with a "bite" taken out of it. For approximately 15-20 minutes Irish skywatchers will be able to see the end of a lunar eclipse with slight darkening of the Moon's edge.

Astronomy Ireland will hold a FREE public Eclipse Watch at its premises in Airside Enterprise Centre, Swords, Co Dublin at 4pm on Saturday. Everyone is invited to come a long and use some of the most powerful telescopes in Ireland to view the eclipse.

As viewed from Ireland, people can expect to see a slight darkened edge of the Moon, similar to this image.

If you see the eclipse, please report what you saw to observe@astronomy.ie so that it can be included in an upcoming issue of Astronomy & Space.
