Artemis 2

Artemis 2 Launch

Wednesday April 1st at 11:24pm Irish Time sees NASA’s crew of 3 men and 1 woman being launched on a 10 day mission to around the Moon, making them the humans who will be farthest from Earth in history.

They are scouting for landing sites for a Moon landing in 2028 to beat the Chinese who plan their manned landing in 2030.

Then NASA lands 2 crews a year until they have a permanent Moon Base by 2033. And from there they are going to Mars they said at 5 hours of media events last week, all led by the new NASA boss Jared Isaacman.

Big plans! And we will cover it all in the pages of Astronomy Ireland magazine so do sign up for the magazine and let us keep you post, all for a euro a week courtesy of your national astronomy society, and the most popular astronomy society in the world.
