Join us for a free Venus Watch at AI Headquarters in Blanchardstown at 3:00PM on Sunday July 30.

This event is being run on the occasion of Venus being a huge 53 arc seconds wide. We have never run a Venus Watch on the occasion of its disc being the biggest planetary disc possible to see in the telescope so this will be a unique event. Venus will be 21 degrees from the Sun.

We will also be setting up a special “H-alpha” telescope to view the Sun like you have never seen it before – with prominences, filaments and not just the HUGE sunspots that have appeared this year!

So this is a DOUBLE UNIQUE event for the summer – please get ALL your friends and family to come along

VENUS FACTS

It’s the hottest planet in our solar system, even though Mercury is closer to the Sun.

Surface temperatures on Venus are about 900 degrees Fahrenheit (475 degrees Celsius) – hot enough to melt lead.

The surface is a rusty color and it’s peppered with intensely crunched mountains and thousands of large volcanoes.
