ABOUT THE LECTURE:
My talk will include knowledge on all the events you can witness in the night sky of Scotland and tips on how to photograph them. I will go through the seasons of the night sky including the Milky Way season, summer season with topics on unique events such as meteor showers and northern lights, and also tips on how to forecast the northern lights.. Also content from abroad capturing the night sky including Iceland, Norway and Tenerife.
Andrew will talk about the equipment and software he uses to take breath taking images and video of the night sky. He has worked along side large companies providing night sky content. You can find his work on such companies like BBC, Visit Scotland and Audi.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Andrew Allan
Andrew Allan is a self-taught Scottish astrophotographer with a passion for the night sky. He travels around Scotland’s photographing dark skies and filming anything celestial from the Milky Way to moon rises and also loves hunting down the Northern Lights. Andrew shares his photography and videos of the night sky on social media. He also travels up to arctic latitudes to photograph the Northern Lights every year.
